Molecular sieve is a kind of desiccant which used to removing the moisture from insulating glass (IG). Active molecular sieves generate heat upon contact with water. The more active sieve is will generate more heat. This material can adsorb a minimum of 20% of its own weight in moisture when measured at 80% RH and 25áµ’C
Function
· Drying of the moisture trapped during manufacturing of the IG unit
· Uptake of the water vapor diffusing through the edge seal of the IG unit during its period of use
· Condensation at low temperatures
Applications
· Drying air and gases
· Commercial dehydration of unsaturated hydrocarbon streams
· Drying polar liquids such as methanol and ethanol,
· Adsorption of molecules such as NH3 and H2O from N2/H2 flow
